I've been a Lib Dem activist since I was 15. I've been involved in campaigns and candidate development in both the East Midlands and Scotland. I live near Edinburghwith my husband, daughter and an ever growing menagerie. I am also a trained breastfeeding counsellor.
What do you do, mostly?
By day, I'm caseworker for a Lib Dem MP. The rest of the time, I help with campaigns and candidate develpment, trying to encourage women to come forward and stand for Parliament. I also blog at http://caronsmusings.blogspot.com
What matters most in the world?
Freedom - from poverty, ignorance and conformity as the Lib Dem consttitution says. Freedom to choose the life you want to lead with no artifical barriers based on your gender, creed, race or sexuality.
If you were Prime Minister what would you do?
Probably the first thing would be to put in place decent support for women who want to breastfeed their babies - of those who give up in the early days, 90% don't want to. Most of these could be helped with accurate information and support which they just don't get. That would be such an investment in the future and probably the single biggest thing we could do to promote future good health.
The next thing would be electoral reform - STV - to encourage a more diverse Parliament.
After that, it would be world peace, sharing the world's resources more equitably.
What does Soft Power say to you?
Managing change sensitively, but being true to your values.
Do you have children?
Yes
What would you like from this site?
To learn from like minded individuals from all parties and none and to work together to make the Commons more representative.
