Politically, I align with feminists, pluralists, socialists. Socially, I am an advocate for people without voices: older, poorer or more vulnerable than myself.
What do you do, mostly?
Dementia Care Trainer by profession. Local activism for a wide variety of groups by inclination.
What matters most in the world?
Looking after each other - particularly, respecting, valuing and loving each other as we all get older.
If you were Prime Minister what would you do?
Invest in green technology and green jobs by reducing tax burden and providing cheap loans. Encourage micro-generation by increasing the feed-in tariff for householders willing to generate their own energy. Combine social care and health budgets together to create a National Health Service. Build 1.5 million new affordable homes and 1.5 million social homes. Reduce income inequalities over the next generation ( 30-50 years) through moving toward a citizen's wage ( starting with the unpaid care workforce). Embed the notion of gender parity in the constitutional structures of all public bodies. Move swiftly to a PR system of voting for the House of Commons and a fully elected second chamber.
What does Soft Power say to you?
The power of participation, persuasion, negotiation, mediation, consensus and compromise, transparency and accountability. The antithesis of coercion, power by brute strength and guile.
Do you have children?
Yes
What would you like from this site?
Respectful dialogue and debate.
